City of London Walk
The City of London the ‘square mile’ in the centre of London with a population of only eleven thousand people hosts about half a million commuters every day; it is the financial heart not only of the capital but of the whole country and beyond. We will see Guildhall and the Roman amphitheatre, the Bank of England that has been issuing banknotes and ensuring the stability of British currency for over three hundred years; the Royal Exchange founded in the XVI century; the Mansion House the official residence of the Lord Mayor, a post that has existed since 1189; and remains of Roman settlements surrounded by modern skyscrapers.
